Abstract
The fluorescence emission from the molecular crystals naphthalene and phenanthrene may be observed after a delay of several milliseconds from the time of excitation. The decay time is strongly temperature dependent and the decay law is nonexponential. The delayed emission is connected with the crystalline state of the material, but is not otherwise understood. Keywords
