Abstract
Practical considerations, such as sample selection and data analysis, associated with local norms development are discussed. A local norming project involving administering Form L of the PPVT-R to 398 Mexican-American children in grades K through 6 is presented in detail. The mean standard score for the local sample was three-fourths of a standard deviation below the mean for the national norm group. The utility of local norms and their interpretation is discussed in the context of the findings obtained for this sample. Keywords
