Immunologic Studies on Drug Addiction

Abstract
Antisera which react with methadone and with urine from users of this drug have been prepared in rabbits. A simple and rapid hemagglutination-inhibition test which detects methadone in concentrations of 1 ng/ml has been applied to human urine specimens with results that demonstrate the specificity of the test and suggest that use of the drug may remain detectable for at least 1 week. Heroin used simultaneously with methadone does not interfere in the test.
