TERMINOLOGY FOR SURFACE FEATURES IN ORNATE OSTRACODES

Abstract

The surface ornament of the ostracode carapace is shown to be composed of structural elements extending into the thickness of the shell. A terminology is proposed for surface features newly revealed by scanning electron microscopy.
