Abstract
As will be apparent, a study such as this serves a dual purpose in elucidating certain problems of phylogenetic relationships, either broad or narrow, and at the same time allowing the demonstration of the means by which the chromosomes themselves have undergone changes in their number, morphology, or mechanical properties, during the course of their phylogeny. That is to say, such lines of investigation have a direct appeal to both the taxonomist and the pure cytologist. Keywords
