Abstract
E.S.R. spectra of partially deuterated phosphorescent aromatic molecules have been recorded in the half-field region. Single crystal and frozen solution spectra display resolved hyperfine structure. The theory of the hyperfine splitting of Δm s = 2 transitions is reviewed in simple terms. Using previously reported values for the spin hamiltonian parameters, the solution results are discussed in a qualitative manner. Some possible extensions and applications of the technique are mentioned. Keywords
