Abstract
We investigate in a phenomenological way direct violation in the hadronic decays where the effect of mixing is included. If (the effective parameter associated with factorization) is constrained using the most recent experimental branching ratios (to and from the BABAR, BELLE and CLEO Collaborations, we get a maximum violating asymmetry in the range to for and to for We also find that violation is strongly dependent on the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements. Finally, we show that the sign of is always positive in the allowed range of and hence, a measurement of direct violation in would remove the ambiguity in
