Abstract
IT IS now common practice in many shoe stores and shoe departments of department stores to supplement usual shoe-fitting methods by the use of fluoroscopes known as x-ray shoe fitters. Because this technic has spread rapidly throughout the United States, particularly in stores specializing in children's shoes, it is desirable to know precisely the exposures to irradiation received by customers, as well as by clerks and other persons in the area of x-ray shoe-fitting units.For this reason a series of studies was undertaken for the purpose of measuring foot dosage, leakage through the walls of the cabinet and scattering . . .
