A New Species of Pythium with Spiny Oogonia

Abstract
SUMMARY Oogonia of Pythium prolatum n. sp. possess heavy, conical, crowded spines which vary from 4 to 8 μ in length. The oogonia exclusive of spines average 27 μ in diam, and the aplerotic oospores average 25 Sporangia are large, often greatly elongated, occasionally proliferous, and discharge zoospores through terminal, simple or twisted, evacuation tubes.Keywords
