Measurement of ${D_{s}}^{\pm}$ and $D^{\pm}$ Decays to Nonstrange States

Using the data from Fermilab experiment 691, we have observed signals for the decays

{D_{s}}^{\pm}

and

D^{\pm} \to π^{-} π^{+} π^{\pm}

and have analyzed these modes for the fraction due to

ρ^{0} π^{\pm}

and

f_{0} (975) π^{\pm}

. In addition, we have searched for the decays

{D_{s}}^{\pm}

and

D^{\pm} \to π^{-} π^{+} π^{-} π^{+} π^{\pm}

. Values or upper limits are reported for the relative branching fractions for all of the above decays.
