Abstract
The nesslerization method was compared with the micro-Keldahl method of determining serum protein by taking one sample of serum and repeating the estimation, by nesslerization, of the total N in 0.005 ml. of serum 28 times. The total N in 0.1 ml. of the same serum was estimated 4 times by the titration method. The avg. of these 4 results, viz., 6.75 g. protein/100 ml., has been taken as correct. The results by nesslerization showed a wide scatter. A 2d comparison was carried out by making duplicate estimation of the total N by each method on 71 different samples of serum. The avg. of the series of detns. by the nesslerization method was slightly lower than the avg. of the titration method.
