Abstract
Bias-dependence of second order intermodulation distortion (IMD2) of distributed-feedback laser-diodes (DFB-LD) has been investigated both theoretically and experimentally. A new analytical model proposes that varying the threshold gain is responsible for the bias-dependence of IMD2. The experimental behaviour is explained using this theory. Keywords
