Abstract
The reasons for successful withdrawal from methadone maintenance remain to be clarified. The theories, methods and outcome of methadone maintenance withdrawal were reviewed. Successful withdrawal is possible for at least a sizable minority, but may have more to do with psychological and social factors beyond the scope of treatment programs. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
