Abstract

Ingestion rates of larvae of the sea urchin P. lividus (Lamarck) increase during development. The pattern of the increase in ingestion rates with larval development is similar to that of a growth curve representable by the logistic equation I = A/1+eB+Cx, where I = ingestion rate; A = maximal ingestion rate; B = integration constant; C = specific ingestion rate; x = age of the larva.
