Abstract
Following the expression for the dielectric function of an electron liquid derived earlier by Tripathy and Mandal (1977) the authors evaluate the frequency dependence of its local field factor G(k, omega ) which describes the dynamical aspects of the xchange and short-range correlation effects. By means of a careful analysis so as to take into account the effect of the second-order pole appearing in the expression for G(k, omega ) it is found that G(k, omega ) does not exhibit any singular behaviour in the omega space. They present the results for k=kF and compare it with other available theories. Keywords
