Anonychia Congenita

Abstract
A family is described in which four out of ten children suffer from recessively inherited congenital anonychia, ie, lack of the fingernails and toenails. No other signs of physical abnormality appeared in any of the affected persons. Other family members as well as relatives were known to be physically normal. A triple consanguinity of the parents was noted, both parents being descendants of three separate families from the 17th and 18th centuries.
