Abstract
Every laser scanning system combines a variety of optical and electronic components to achieve a particular set of quality, throughput and cost goals. In optimizing such a system there is a vital need to make the best use of the capabilities of each component. This can only be achieved when there is a mutual understanding, among the various members of the design team, of the significant considerations - advantages, limitations and tradeoffs - in each other's field. Keywords
