Abstract
A chemical bait that was as attractive as liver to adult Cochliomyia hominivorax (Coquerel) contained 10 chemicals found to be degradation products of animal protein. Best results were obtained by separating the chemicals into 3 vials based on compatibility. In a 20-wk comparison of the chemical bait with liver, the bait attracted 5.7 times more ♂ screwworms, and the liver attracted 1.7 times more females and 7.7 times more trash flies. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
