Abstract
A subclavian intravenous line was replaced by a larger catheter in pulmonary artery or pulmonary wedge studies in 250 cases. This was accomplished by inserting a guidewire through the catheter to be removed and using it as a guide for introduction of the larger catheter. With careful attention to technical detail, complications have been minimal. Keywords
