Abstract
The quantum-mechanical response of a two-dimensional electron gas in the presence of a strong dc magnetic field is calculated in the random-phase approximation. The results are used to discuss the magnetoplasma oscillations of a two-dimensional electron gas. The general dispersion relation is derived, and numerical results are presented for both long and short wavelengths. Keywords
