Abstract
Theoretical modeling of surface-plasmon-enhanced polarization conversion from a diffraction grating is developed. The theory compares very favorably with data. From further modeling it is found that the transverse-magnetic mode to transverse-electric mode available from a metallized grating may approach 100% in appropriate circumstances. Keywords
