Abstract
The standard enthalpies of formation at 298.15 K of the crystalline solids [Mo(pd)3], ΔHf ⊖=–1323.9 ± 5.9 kJ mol–1, and [MoO2(pd)2](pd = pentane-2,4-dionate), ΔHf ⊖=–1 365.5 ± 4.5 kJ mol–1, have been determined using solution reaction calorimetry. The mean Mo–O bond-enthalpy contributions involving the pentane-2,4-dionate groups have been assessed in the two compounds as 192.0 and 187.3 kJ mol–1, respectively. Keywords
