Abstract
The effects of pH on the activity of nicotine relative to that of nicotine monomethiodide have been studied on the frog rectus abdominis preparation. Results have been obtained which substantiate the view that it is the univalent nicotinium ion, rather than the un-ionized base, which acts at the neuromuscular junction. Keywords
