Abstract
Cumene hydroperoxide-induced calcium release from mitochondria has been studied. Activation of lipid peroxidation by increasing concentrations of cumene hydroperoxide does not enhance calcium efflux induced by low (up to 50 μM) concentration of cumene hydroperoxide. It is concluded that cumene hydroperoxide-induced calcium release depends mainly on processes coupled to hydroperoxide reduction by an endogenous enzyme systemKeywords
