Abstract
Effects of ion irradiation on the critical current density of high-T c superconducting Ba2YCu3O7-δ thin films have been studied. For the film subjected to a fluence of 5.02×1011 ions/cm2 of 514 keV O+, the critical current density determined from I-V characteristics was enhanced by about 10% from 53 to 75 K. The temperature dependence of the critical current density was not affected by ion irradiation. Irradiation effects on the critical temperature of these films have also been investigated. Keywords
