Abstract
Standard methods of preparing (1) turbid and (2) clear Wassermann anti-gens are given. The actions of mixtures of 2 of the 4 salts, LiCl, NaCl, MgCl2 and CaCh, on the precipitation of the turbid antigen, were studied. The H-ion acts like the bivalent cations. The protective effect of antigens, both clear and turbid, was investigated, using gold sol. The protective effect was more marked in the presence of salts with bivalent cations than with salts of univalent cations. Again the H-ion behaves like a bivalent cation. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
