Abstract
One living and 14 dead Canada geese (Branta canadensis) were found on a golf course near Ladue, Missouri [USA]. The live bird could fly weakly, but was unable to stand and was salivating profusely. When geese or other birds die under circumstances such as those described here, anticholinesterase pesticides should be considered as a possible cause of death. This incident suggests that the so called short-lived compounds, such as diazinon, may cause mortality of birds months after their last application. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
