Abstract
Sixteen rats were injd. intratracheally with a suspension of granite dust containing a mixture of quartz, feldspar, and mica. This dust was collected from the beams and rafters of Cornish granite sheds. About 15% of the sample was quartz. A mild reticulin reaction followed in about 100 days, but was not comparable with the silicosis produced by quartz. Keywords
