Abstract
Swedish legislation does not generally apply to natural background radiation. However, when dose limits are approached in such situations the legislation may also apply to those situations. For an air crew the most critical limit seems to be that for the pregnant woman. Measurements of the ambient dose equivalent rate were performed aboard a domestic flight using a microdosimetry technique as well as other techniques. From the results an estimate of the equivalent dose to the foetus was made. It was well below the dose limit given in the Swedish legislation. Keywords
