Abstract
Adsorption and heats of wetting data have been obtained for the benzene and ethylene dichloride, and bromobenzene and chlorobenzene systems using the adsorbents Graphon and Spheron 6. The results have been treated using a thermodynamic theory recently put forward, and it is concluded that whereas the Graphon systems obey approximately the requirements of the theory for a “perfect system”, the Spheron 6 systems do not. Suggestions are made for some further experimental requirements for future tests of the theory.
