Abstract
The spin-orbit splittings for the and levels of and level of have been calculated in the spirit of Brueckner's theory in the first Born approximation from the spin-orbit term that Marshak and Signell have added to the two-nucleon Gartenhaus potential. The results obtained are much larger than those obtained from the conventional tensor force in second order.
