Statistical Mechanics and the Travelling Salesman Problem

Abstract
We report the results of a numerical simulation of the travelling salesman problem. We find no evidence of a spin-glass type of behaviour at low temperatures (absence of replica symmetry breaking). Our results are in good agreement with the predictions of Mézard and Parisi.Keywords
