Abstract

Injection of cortical hormone was followed by a reduction of blood cholesterol: in 23 rabbits 30.6% (average) ; in 10 men, 225%. The potency of the extract was destroyed by heating. Three cases are reported of congenital cardiac malformation; the adrenals of these infants, examined 21, 6, and 5 days after birth, showed no physiological involution of the cortex.
