Abstract
Very high-accuracy resistance measurements on dilute alloys of Mn, Cr, and Fe in zinc are presented. In all three systems the resistivity at high temperatures has a dependence but at the lowest temperatures of measurement a dependence is observed. The resistivity behavior is compared with the predictions of the and the spin-fluctuation models. Measurements are also presented of the residual resistivity of the Zn--transition-metal series extrapolated to K. It is found that the residual resistivity can be explained in terms of a model of an unmagnetized Friedel virtual bound state. Previous measurements on the zinc--transition-metal series have been summarized in the Appendix.
