Abstract
For original paper see ibid., vol.16, p.261-4 (1983). Sundqvist (1983) has proposed a technique for linear temperature-to-frequency conversion using standard thermistors over a 75K range with an error of less than 0.5K. It has been observed by the authors that a simple circuit based on a similar principle may be designed which exhibits linear conversion over the entire range of the thermistor's exponential characteristic. The circuit ensures very low power dissipation in the thermistor probe which is partly responsible for the extension of the linear conversion range. Further, it has been indicated that a thermistor with a low B value is to be preferred in order to obtain better linear operational performance. Keywords
