Abstract
Crawford, D. N. 1972. Birds of Darwin area, with some records from other parts of Northern Territory. Emu: 131–148. The Darwin area is briefly described with an outline of topography, climate and habitats. The birds are described in a systematic list of 254 species. Of these Tringa totanus and Limnodromus semipalmatus are recorded for the first time in Australia, and Fregata minor. Anas querquedula, Calidris melanotos, C. subminutu, Hirund o rustica have not been recorded in the Northern Territory before. Status, distribution and points of identification are given from observations made between 1967 and 1971.Keywords
