Abstract
BDP is a useful treatment for asthma, but the mechanism of its action is unknown. Routine estimations of bronchial sensitivity to histamine aerosols showed that there was a decrease in bronchial hyperreactivity in 11 out of 14 cases given BDP as a routine treatment. The results are significant by Student's t-test (P less than .001) and reveal one mechanism by which BDP can act in the lungs. Keywords
