Abstract
Based on the study of over 200 zooplankton samples from 5 of the 6 provinces in Cuba, 26 [Diaptomus albuquerquensis, D. dorsalis, Acanthocyclops vernalis, Cyclops vicinus, Ecotocyclops phaleratus, Eucyclops bondi, E. serrulatus, E. speratus, Macrocyclops albidus, M. ater, Mesocyclops edax, M. ellipticus, M. longisetus, Microcyclops ceibaensis, M. mendocinus, M. panamensis, M. varicans, M. varicans rubellus, Paracyclops fibriatus chiltoni, Thermocyclops crassus, T. inversus, T. tenuis and Tropocyclops prasinus mexicanus] spp. of freshwater Calanoida and Cyclopoida were recorded. Of these, 23 are new records. Brief remarks are made on some of the lesser known or unexpected species. The zoogeographical relationships of the Cuban species are commented on. The fauna appears to be more tropical than temperate in this subtropical country. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
