Search forBe10as a Product of Ternary Fission

The possibility of the formation of ${\mathrm{Be}}^{10}$ as a product of ternary fission of ${\mathrm{U}}^{235}$ has been investigated radio-chemically. An upper limit of 4×${10}^{-4\mathrm{}}$% fission yield was determined. This low value is inconsistent with the recently proposed assignment of the 0.15-sec delayed-neutron period to ${\mathrm{Li}}^9$.
