Abstract
BCG-induced aveolar cells can incorporate radioactive leucine into protein. This incorporation is linear with time for 40 min., is linear with protein concentrations over the range tested and is almost completely abolished by puromycin. The microsomal fraction has the highest protein-specific activity at all times. The rise in protein-specific activity of the medium above the supernatant fraction suggests a direct transfer from the particulate fraction to the medium, consistent with the thought that these cells can perform an exocrine function. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
