Malignant granular cell tumour (myoblastoma) of the vulva: report of a case and review of the literature

Abstract
A [human] case of malignant granular cell tumor (myoblastoma) which metastasized from the vulva to the regional lymph nodes is presented. EM of the metastases demonstrated the presence of numerous intra-cytoplasmic lysosomes, a feature characteristic of these neoplasms, and the neoplasm stained strongly for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) using the immunoperoxidase technique. Previous reports in the literature of malignant granular cell tumors are reviewed and discussed.
