Abstract
In a number of studies coffee consumption has been shown to be related to total cholesterol levels. The finding is not consistent and the possibilities for a causal relationship is discussed. The U-shaped relation between risk of coronary heart disease and alcohol consumption is also reviewed as well as the possible relationship between some of the coronary risk factors and alcohol consumption. Keywords
