Incidence of Gram‐negative bacteraemia in sepsis syndrome Implications for immunotherapy

Abstract
The incidence of Gram‐negative bacteraemia in 100 patients with sepsis syndrome receiving antibiotics, and admitted to the Intensive Therapy Unit, was only 12%. If endotoxin antibody is only effective in bacteraemic patients and these results are confirmed, there would be little indication for its use in our Intensive Therapy Unit.
