Preparation and electrical properties of polymeric copper phthalocyanine thin films by plasma polymerization

Abstract
Polymeric copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) thin films (600–3000 Å thick) were prepared for the first time by glow-discharge plasma polymerization. The film largely maintained the original structure of CuPc. The films obtained were interposed between aluminum and ITO electrodes (Al/polymeric CuPc/ITO) and the electrical properties of the sandwich cells have been studied. These cells were found to exhibit good rectification, photovoltaic, photoreduction, and electrochromic characteristics.
