Effect of Urea-Saline Diuresis on Renal Clearance of Calcium, Magnesium, and Inorganic Phosphate in Man.

Abstract
Summary Urea saline diuresis in 5 normal humans induced a linear increase in the clearance of calcium and magnesium and had no effect on the clearance of inorganic phosphate. The relationship among all 3 variables (clearances of calcium and magnesium and excretion rate of sodium) could be expressed by a first order equation. The data presented are in accord with previous reports on the effect of osmotic diuresis on divalent ion excretion in dogs.
