Abstract
Summary: The cross-reacting antibody of “immune” group O human sera is present in both the 7 S and 19 S components of the γ-globulins and in the “intermediate” (11 S) components of at least some group O immune sera. Dual specificity of individual molecules of antibody appears to be excluded as the cause of the serologic cross-reactivity. Although cross-reacting antibody and anti-AP antibody are both present in group O “immune” sera, they are not identical, as is shown by the absorption and elution studies described in this report. Keywords
