Abstract
A simple and convenient colorimetric assay for the quantification of non‐specific esterase is described. The assay takes advantage of the microtitration plate format, and the high capacity of repetitive dispensers and the microplate reader for this format. The assay is well suited for the quantification changes in the esterase activity in homogeneous cell populations like monocytes maturing into macrophages. Keywords
