Stopping power for fast channeledαparticles in silicon

Abstract
The stopping power for 160-MeV α particles in silicon has been measured in the 110 and 111 channeling directions and also for random impact. The respective values 0.54 ± 0.02, 0.67 ± 0.02, and 1.10 ± 0.01 eV/Å are discussed in relation to conflicting theories of the channeled stopping power.
