Abstract
The 2‐, 3‐ and 4‐substituted methylpyridines were used to investigate the theoretical and experimental relationships between pH and separation in free solution capillary electrophoresis. Separation was improved by the use of a cationic surfactant to suppress electroosmotic flow. The electrophoretic mobilities of the 3‐ and 4‐isomers were examined and found to be linearly dependant upon calculated charge. Keywords
