Abstract
We report the successful application of electrohydraulic lithrotripsy to an impacted calcified fecalith, which we believe is a novel and effective treatment for this problem. A 76-year-old woman was referred for an asymptomatic pelvic mass. Physical examination was notable for a rock-hard, mobile rectal mass. Computerized tomography revealed a 9-cm rectal mass with a calcified shell, and a plain abdominal radiograph showed a grapefruit-sized calcified mass in the pelvis ( Fig. 1 ).This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
